"Simple Kind Of Life"

Let me just start with how crazy the 90's were. Many different styles were happenin' from the grunge look of big T-shirts, dickies shorts and adidas to chokers, velvet dresses and high wasted pants (very Clueless). There is a different side of the 90's that I want to share with you guys that I love. Sublime, 311, and The Specials were all the rage but  I want to talk about how much I love and admire Gwen Stefani who was in No Doubt in the 90's and early 00's. I hold a special place for her in my heart (cheesy) but its true. Artist who don't care if what they're wearing looks ridiculous and can pull of their own style is fuckin AMAZIN'. She also didn't care what people said about her and the clothes she wore, SHE OWNED IT!
Her style was very different and lets be honest COOL AS FUCK! She wore furry bikini tops, pants that look like a trash bag, bright blue or pink hair and rocked the red lipstick. She and No Doubt challenged how people viewed reggae and transformed music into something new and refreshing that everyone enjoyed. Now if you didn't jam out to "Just A Girl" in your Jeep with the top off or "Hey Baby" on your way to the club you're lying!

Gwen Stefani is still killing it in the fashion and music industry. She went solo and recorded the album "Love. Angel. Music. Baby" in 2004. EVERYONE remembers B-A-N-A-N-A and "Hollaback Girl" in the early 00's. She was kicking ass yo!
Not to mention does she even age?! She's 45 but looks as if she never left the 90's! This is simply just a Gwen Stefani appreciation post because I love her (I already said that) and because she's awesome. If you've known me long enough you should know that she is my WCE and inspiration into wearing whatever I feel even if it doesn't match, hell I am the queen of not matching and she also inspired new artist to wear whatever they desire even if society will criticize them. I feel like social media doesn't talk about her as much or gives her enough credit for how hot and amazing she is. Artist who stand on their own and OWN what they wear and express how weird they are, are the best artists!
